My art evokes the feminine mythologies of sacred seeds and the Andean agrocentric symbolism
My art is rooted in the stories and rituals of my ancestors. Through color and form, I explore the relationship between women, seeds, and the cycles of life that have sustained Andean communities for generations.
About Valentina's Art
Valentina Campos creates art that bridges ancient Andean traditions with contemporary expression. Her work celebrates the feminine spirits of seeds, plants, and the natural world, drawing from her Bolivian heritage and deep connection to indigenous wisdom.
Beyond her studio practice, Valentina has worked with indigenous Guarani, Chiquitano, and Ayoreo communities through the NGO “Centro de Diseño Artesanal y Cooperativa Campesina, Arte Campo” in Santa Cruz, Bolivia.
The Mamalas series brings to life the mother spirits of seeds and plants central to Andean cosmology. Each painting personifies these natural elements as powerful feminine figures, honoring their role in sustaining life and culture.
Praise for Mamalas

Seeds are the self-renewing basis of life that is why diverse cultures have held seed as sacred. Seeds are the source of abundance, from one seed arises hundreds and thousands of seeds – to feed us as grain, to be saved as seed for future harvests.
Women have been the seed keepers across cultures, throughout history. And the sacredness of seed has b een symbolized as mother goddesses, the Mamalas as so beautifully and powerfully expressed in the paintings of Valentina Campos.
Navdanya, the movement for seed saving and Diverse Women for Diversity, a global movement of Women for the defense of cultural and biological diversity are happy to bring you this celebration of seed.
